The Rosewood, London

When a client came to us looking for a 5-star venue to host the first of their major UK events since COVID, we knew the Rosewood London would be a perfect fit!

Not only does Rosewood London, offer exceptional service, but it also has beautiful décor and floristry throughout – as well as being packed with some interesting facts.

Designed by H. Percy Monckton, building construction started in 1912 at 252 High Holborn. Just a short 2 years later the first part of the building was completed. The building was expanded over nearly 50 years in 4 stages, during this time 252 High Holborn became the headquarters for the Pearl Assurance Company.

Scarfes Bar

We kicked off this event with a welcome reception at Scarfes Bar the evening before the main conference agenda. Scarfes Bar was designed by interior designer Martin Brudnizki, with a beautiful bespoke fireplace standing at 1.8 meters high, made from antique brass and bronze at one end of the room, with a wooden bar spanning the length of the room on the other side.  Scarfes Bar has over 1000 handpicked antique books by a Portobello art dealer and Gerald Scarfe, a renowned British artist and caricaturist, has lent his name and artistic vision to Scarfes Bar. These elements all create a very eclectic but warm feel to the venue.

Grand Ballroom

The Grand Ballroom is a must if you’re hosting a large conference, with a 450-person capacity the space is flexible – which has become a very important and highly requested feature in event spaces. We made use of the flexibility of the space and had a classroom and theatre style set up to suit our client’s needs. With enough space for a stage to host 7 panellists as well as a lectern for the chair, comfort monitors and of course projector screens – we really made use of every inch of the space!

Outside of the Grand Ballroom is the Foyer, with ample space. Guests for this event checked into one of two registration desks, and were welcomed with a networking breakfast, which included barista made coffees.

Mirror Room

Our client wanted a spacious venue – they wanted delegates to be able to stretch their legs, get some fresh air, and not spend their whole event in one space. With this in mind, the Mirror Room was recommended. A light and airy room with – as the name suggests – a lot of mirrors!

Located on the ground floor, with doors opening onto the courtyard area, the Mirror Room is a great space for a networking lunch. With plenty of seating, and a few smaller spaces set back from the main room, it provides the perfect setting for those who want the option to have open conversations as well as space for slightly more private conversations.

Holborn Dining Room

To wrap up a great day of content and speakers, delegates headed upstairs to the Holborn Dining Room, where they could dine from one of the chef’s live food stations, enjoy a drink with a live classical duo and catch up with colleagues and other event delegates.

Designed once again by Martin Brudnizki, the Holborn Dining Room provides a great atmosphere in a historic setting. Guests of the Holborn Dining room can expect to find intimate booths, as well as casual high-top tables and stools, with British dishes which include delicious handmade pies from The Pie Room.

La Veranda, by Patron

La Veranda opened the week before this event, great timing for the heatwave we experienced! Bringing a taste of Mexico to Holborn, the Rosewood London courtyard has been transformed with a collaboration with Patron Tequila. This is a great spot to spend a warm sunny day with some great cocktails and of course, some Mexican-inspired food.

Rosewood London has also partnered with artisan clothing brand Tea and Tequila – a British brand with Mexican soul. You’ll spot the staff dressed in some amazing brightly coloured outfits (which you can buy from Tea & Tequila directly).

Bedrooms

With 263 bedrooms and 45 suites, you will not be disappointed in your options of sleeping spaces. Designed by Tony Chi and Associates you can expect to find lacquer, textured wood veneers and amazing mirrors, and of course, the finest Italian marble in your bathrooms with hand-beaten silver finishes.

There are 8 signature ‘house’ suites at Rosewood London, the grandest of them – the Manor House is the only suite in the world to have its own postcode!

We love Rosewood London for a venue and can’t wait to work with them again! If you’re in the Holborn area, make sure you grab a drink from Scarfes Bar or enjoy a bite to eat in the Holborn Dining Room – it won’t disappoint!
