Overview of Advertising Week Europe 2024

In 2024, Advertising Week Europe (AWE) celebrated its 10th edition with a fresh new look at 180 Studios in Central London. Absolute Production Group supported the event by delivering a week-long schedule. This was packed with thought leadership, industry awards, sponsored events, roundtables, and a vibrant wrap party. Also, this year marked the transition to a new venue, introducing exciting challenges and opportunities to elevate the event experience.

Services Provided

AP LIVE’s expertise ensured the seamless execution of this event across multiple disciplines:

  • Audio-Visual Solutions: Absolute Audio Visual Solutions provided flawless technical services for audio, video, lighting, and staging across four theater spaces. A dedicated team of 83 technical crew members managed the back-to-back schedule of presentations.
  • Content Creation & Streaming: Throughout the three-day event, over 160 sessions were recorded, with 87 sessions live-streamed, producing a total of 43 hours of on-demand content for attendees to access post-event.
  • Event Branding & Scenic Design: Display Graphics handled all on-site branding, creating custom set and stage designs for each theater, as well as unique branding for lounge areas, activation zones, and exterior windows. They also provided monitor surrounds for agenda walls and theater screens.
  • Comprehensive Event Management: AP LIVE managed all ticketing, guest management, catering, security, staffing, and delegate support. We oversaw speaker talent management and developed tailored training plans for over 100 event support staff across various production areas.
  • Special Events: In collaboration with 10 sponsors, we organized 12 special events across four venues, including 180 Strand, Wagtail, L’Oscar, and Toklas, welcoming over 1,500 guests throughout the week.

Overcoming Challenges

After a decade of hosting Advertising Week Europe (AWE) at the iconic Picturehouse Studios, the event faced a significant challenge this year as it relocated to 180 Studios. Transitioning such a well-established event to a new venue required strategic planning and innovative thinking. While this change presented obstacles, we turned these challenges into opportunities to enhance the attendee experience and elevate the event’s overall impact.

Upon entering the new space, our team quickly recognized that some areas felt underutilized and lacked the vibrant energy typical of AWE. Undoubtedly, we drew on our extensive vendor network. In addition to this, leveraging our synchronized team dynamics, we devised a creative solution. An element of this was to re-purpose in-house furniture to create inviting social spaces. Ultimately this would increase interaction and engagement among attendees. Also we hired a talented graffiti artist to create a stunning mural celebrating the 10-year legacy of AWE. This truly transformed the venue into an inspiring environment.

Successful Event Execution

Even though there was initial apprehension of relocating, Advertising Week Europe at 180 Studios proved to be a remarkable success. AP LIVE was thrilled to collaborate once again on this pivotal event, bringing together both long-standing and new sponsors. For example, the diverse range of activations offered attendees unique opportunities to engage with the latest trends and innovations in the advertising industry.
Also, with an impressive lineup of speakers from various sectors, the event not only showcased top-notch industry insights but also fostered valuable networking opportunities. All in all there was positive feedback from attendees. This highlighted the seamless transition to the new venue and the enhanced atmosphere created by our innovative solutions.
