Our Services

AP LIVE Events takes pride in curating unforgettable events, and the recent awards ceremony was no exception.

To accomplish this, our team sourced, shortlisted, and secured the perfect venue right in the heart of London. The brief was clear: find a central London, cool cocktail space for a largely female crowd, and be capable of dressing the venue and hosting an after party for up to 200 guests.

We shortlisted various venues; the winner being a gallery space in Mayfair called Unit London – a captivating gallery space that provided a blank canvas for creativity across its two floors, creating distinct zones for each part of the event.

To complement the venue, we sourced and worked with the caterer Moving Venue to provide the perfect cocktail party feast. Guests delighted in an array of delicious food and expertly crafted cocktails.

Production was provided by our sister company Absolute AVS who provided the tech to run the awards ceremony and Fireside chat with inspirational speaker Anya Hindmarch.

After the awards ceremony, guests enjoyed entertainment by talented female DJ provided by Sternberg Clarke

The Challenges

Transforming Unit London: Racing Against Time

Unit London, a fantastic space, posed a challenge with limited setup time. With only access to the gallery at 6 pm, the event was set to begin at 6:30 pm!

With two floors to dress and a stage, technical equipment, and entertainment to install, we had to navigate around caterers also setting up in a tiny back kitchen.

To achieve this, we negotiated slightly early access to the small service area, maximising equipment stacking. Our dedicated crew swiftly positioned everything within the 30-minute window to have upstairs ready for the event’s prompt start. With immaculate planning, we opened the doors to VIPs at 6:30 pm, while a queue formed down the Mayfair road in anticipation of the big event.

Working within a prestigious gallery presented challenges, ensuring the production elements worked around the space without damaging the artwork. Moreover, the event pushed the capacity limits, requiring tight guest management for safety, comfort, and art protection. At one point, we implemented a one in, one out policy at the door as we reached capacity.

The Results

The event was deemed a great success; all set up went to plan, guests thoroughly enjoyed the awards and party… and no artwork was damaged in the celebrations!
