AP LIVE support WFA with their annual Global Marketer Conference... this year in Istanbul!

Overview

WFA in Istanbul 2023 – AP LIVE supported the World Federation of Advertisers with a week-long programme of events at the Global Marketer Conference in Istanbul, Turkey.  Additionally, the events were hosted across four different venues and ranged from small executive meetings to larger forums.

The event programme included:

  • A Better Marketing session for up to 250pax on a rooftop venue at the CVK Hotel. Notably, the hotel providing great views across the Bosphorus.
  • Moreover, there was the one-day Global Marketer Conference for 1000 guests at the ICEC. Importantly, this event was hosted alongside the Turkish Association partner RVD.

Services Provided

Pre-planning and onsite production of the Global Marketer Conference in Istanbul included:

  • Working alongside the local registration platform partner.
  • Secondly, management and liaising with other local suppliers.
  • Additionally, the production team oversaw the registration process and the technical set up over all four venues.
  • Technical Director provided consultation and liaised with local suppliers to source all technical equipment across the different venues.
  • AP LIVE ensured an onsite technical team, which included a Technical Director, Technical Manager, E2 Operator, and VIMIX Streaming Operator.

Challenges

As you would expect, working on an event in a country where English isn’t the native language, there are always going to be challenges with translation. However, we were very fortunate that the WFA had a local company working in support of the Global Marketer Conference in Istanbul, that provided invaluable assistance with translations and negotiations.

Furthermore, we encountered another challenge just two weeks before the event – a change of management for one of the venues. Naturally, this brought about uncertainty as the previous management company owned much of the furniture and AV equipment we had relied on and seen during the planning process. Unfortunately, some of the furnishings we had expected to use had been removed.

However, we didn’t let this setback deter us. Instead, we promptly sourced replacement furniture and AV equipment from nearby vendors with the support of our local partners. Thanks to our resourcefulness and collaborative efforts, the event turned out to be a remarkable success! It truly exemplified our ability to adapt and overcome unforeseen challenges, ensuring a memorable and seamless experience for all attendees.

 

The Results

The client was delighted with the management of the Global Marketer Conference in Istanbul and the execution of all the elements planned and discussions for next year’s event in Toronto are underway!
