A Weekend In Paris

Tuesday, September 10th, 2024

This weekend was a truly insightful one, as AP LIVE went on a familiarisation trip to Paris! From an evening dinner along the river Seine, to watching the Paralympic Judo finals, it was an experience that we have taken a lot away from.

Going on site visits and experiencing the same activities our delegates would is always great to widen our knowledge and expand our venue database, as well as networking with some of the best people within the events industry.

Our trip began on the Eurostar in business class, which was a seamless experience from London St Pancras to Gare du Nord; an ideal way to travel stress-free. We stayed in the newly renovated Pullman Paris Montparnasse, where the entrance was bright and welcoming, and you had a sensational view of the skyline of Paris no matter where you were (but we would recommend heading up to the Skybar for the ultimate view!) After seeing all the venue’s offerings, we headed out to see just what the rest of Paris had to offer….

This evening was where we saw everyone come together to celebrate their Paralympic achievements at Club France in La Villette. A part of the city that isn’t typically explored came alive in an immersive experience linked to the games.

The second day was filled with all things Paralympics and inclusion. We got to check out the exhibition that portrayed the new Olympic disciplines, attend a talk on the city’s values, as well as attend the Para Judo finals! Included with the Judo finals, we enjoyed a premium hospitality experience. Canapes, free-flowing drinks, and the very best service were the ideal way to start and end our Paralympics experience.

To finish the trip off, we had a fabulous dinner on the waterfront at Quai Liberte. We were greeted with the most idyllic views while eating with major monuments like the Statue de la Liberte and the Eiffel Tower.

In just 48 hours, we were able to really soak up the incredible atmosphere that the games have brought to Paris over the past few months, and it was a pleasure to join the Je t’aime team to be able to experience it all – true Parisian style.
