Familiarising ourselves with Lisbon Venues

Tuesday, March 21st, 2023

Earlier this month AP LIVE were invited to attend a familiarisation trip with Lisbon Venues. During the packed two-day trip we had site visits around FIL – The Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre, CCL – The Lisbon Congress Centre and Hyatt Regency Lisboa, met with partners of Lisbon Venues, went on a City Tour and even managed to squeeze in a dinner! The trip took place during Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa, so we even got to see one of the venues in action.

FIL - The Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre

Located in the Parque das Nações neighbourhood, the FIL offers 100,000 square meters of event space. The area spans four pavilions, one multiuse pavilion, meeting rooms, the PT Meeting Centre, two exterior squares which are ideal for food trucks or outdoor breakout space, and it even has a rooftop.

The FIL provides versatile event spaces which can be tailored to the requirements of your event; with dedicated AV and scenic teams they can create multiple spaces within one pavilion seamlessly.

CCL – The Lisbon Congress Centre

The CCL is located within the historic Belém neighbourhood. It offers eight auditoriums, five pavilions, six foyers, thirty-four meeting rooms, a restaurant and parking – meaning you really are spoilt for choice with space at this venue. The layout of the venue allows for multiple events to take place at the same time with minimal or no cross-over in public spaces.

The largest one of the auditoriums has translation booths, AV and some staging already built in. In the foyers, you will find cloakrooms and dedicated registration desks or areas. This really eases the process of organising an event here, as the usual struggle of finding space for these areas is already accounted for.

Lisbon Venues manage both CCL and FIL so you will find a consistent level of knowledge, AV, branding and catering options between the two spaces.

Hyatt Regency

Our accommodation during the two-night trip was provided by Hyatt Regency, which was newly opened in 2022. The hotel is located on the riverfront and provides light, airy modern rooms – each with its own balcony. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the Tagus River, which delivered amazing sunrise views.

Located in the Belém district of Lisbon, the Hyatt Regency has 204 guestrooms and suites, meeting facilities to host up to 176 delegates theatre style, a rooftop terrace which can be privately hired, as well as spa and gym facilities. Within the Belém district, you can find plenty of restaurants, historical monuments and of course the famous Pastéis de Belém – so there is something on offer for all of your guests within a short distance from the hotel.

Should you require a venue with larger event spaces, the Hyatt Regency Lisboa is just a stone’s throw away from The Lisbon Congress Centre and can easily accommodate your needs.
